Fall in Wisconsin means it’s time for apple picking, pumpkin patches, and family fun in the outdoors. Racine County is fortunate to have many award-winning orchards throughout our county. Orchards where families can pick their own apples and find the perfect Halloween pumpkins and gourds.
Apple Orchards
Apple Holler
5006 S. Sylvania Ave., Sturtevant. Among our many orchards, Apple Holler is a 78-acre orchard, featured on U.S. News, boasts a full farm-to-table restaurant, bakery and gift shop. Their full-service restaurant features a wide selection of farm-to-table menu items including their “Everyday” Fish Friday and many apple centric dishes right from the orchard.
You can pick your own apples and peaches or select from a variety of already picked grab bags. With fall comes fresh-pressed cider from the stands and apple cider donuts, along with a field full of pumpkins as well.
From hayrides to sleigh rides and a variety of barnyard animals for the kids, there is always something for everyone to enjoy year-round. Apple Holler also offers a charming rustic venue space available for special events and weddings on their property.
Old Homestead Orchard
7814 Raynor Ave., Franksville. A little to the north you will find the Old Homestead Orchard where you can pick your own apples and sunflowers. You also will find a gift store offering a number of jams, jellies, maple syrup, pumpkins in the fall, and unique gift items. The orchard also offers a picnic area and kids play area.
Brightonwoods Orchard
1072 288th Ave., Burlington. Heading west, check out Brightonwoods Orchard for conveniently bagged fresh-picked apples and homemade apple cider, jams and jellies ready for purchase. A unique feature of this orchard is a separate on-site cidery, AEppelTreow Winery & Distillery.
Ela Orchard
31308 Washington Ave., Rochester. Ela Orchard offers customers more than two dozen varieties of apples and four kinds of pears. Their apple barn also has pressed cider for sale.
Jacobson Orchards
25911 Malchine Rd., Waterford. Jacobson Orchards is a seasonal orchard located a little further west. It boasts more than 1,400 apple trees and has a bakery offering homemade pies, turnovers and fresh-pressed cider.
Pumpkin Farms
Swan’s Pumpkin Farm
5930 Highway H, Franksville. Select your perfect pumpkin from acres of pumpkins of all sizes at Swan’s Pumpkin Farm in northern Racine County. This seasonal pumpkin farm and market offer caramel apples, fresh kettle corn and apple cider donuts among numerous other fall favorites. Swan’s Pumpkin Farm features hayrides and a petting zoo for the young and young at heart from late September to Halloween.
Kyle’s Pumpkin Farm (formerly Land of the Giants)
6449 Highway 38, Franksville. Located in northern Racine County, Kyle’s Pumpkin Farm offers a variety of pumpkins in all sizes—including those that need a forklift to move! There are indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy, including hayrides on the weekends and feeding the resident goats. Kyle’s Pumpkin Farm also has gourds, caramel apples, and apple cider. Open from late September to Halloween.
Squire’s Pumpkin Patch
27225 Church Rd., Burlington. You can also pick your own pumpkin and explore a free corn maze at Squire’s Pumpkin Patch. You will also find decorative gourds and a tiny holiday shop featuring unique holiday decorations, wreaths and more.
Bear Den Zoo & Petting Farm
6831 Big Bend Rd., Waterford. At Bear Den Zoo & Petting Farm, you can pick your own pumpkin from their plentiful pumpkin patch, take a scenic hayride through the woods, and see a variety of animals. Children can enjoy their play area as well.
Borzynski’s Farm & Floral Market
115600 Washington Ave., Mount Pleasant. Whether heading out of or into the city, you will most likely drive past Borzynski’s Farm & Floral Market. This year-round marketplace features a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, decor, and gifts, along with a deli counter for perfect lunchtime sandwiches. Their specialty foods include “Made in Wisconsin” items, cheeses, honey, and dips and spreads along with a variety of jams, jellies and sauces. Borzynski’s Farm & Floral Market also boasts a large selection of pumpkins, gourds and mums available in the fall. Come winter, visit their market for their large selection of Christmas trees.
